About the Position

Job Title

Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) – Operating Room

Location

Springfield, OR | Acute Care

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Travel | Days | 13-Week Assignment | Start Time: 6:30 AM – 5:00 PM | On-call required (approximately 4 on-call shifts per month)

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare the operating room including the sterile field, surgical equipment, supplies, and solutions prior to procedures
• Pass instruments, fluids, and supplies to the surgeon during procedures while maintaining sterile technique
• Simultaneously manage the sterile field and surgical specimens throughout each case
• Perform counts of sponges and supplies to prevent foreign retained objects
• May be required to float to Sterile Processing or the inpatient floor as a sitter when OR volume is low

Required Qualifications

• Active Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification through the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA)
• Completion of a CAAHEP-accredited or other programmatically-accredited surgical technology program
• Minimum of 2 years of surgical technologist experience
• Prior travel assignment experience required
• Must not be local to the facility — local candidates will not be considered

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience floating to Sterile Processing departments
• Comfort working in a fast-paced, multi-room OR environment
• Demonstrated ability to manage on-call responsibilities effectively
